Quality Is In The Details!

These handbags are not ‘farmed out' overseas or even to other seamstresses. From the first cut to the last stitch, each handbag is designed and assembled by me with the assistance of my mother (who taught me everything I know about sewing). If the bag doesn't meet my standards for quality, it doesn't go out the door. And my mother will attest to the fact that I am very, very, very picky!

These handbags are not ‘mass produced'. Each 'Basic' handbag is made to order and we only make a limited number of handbags from each fabric. The 'Solitaire' handbags are one of a kind. So when you purchase either of these exclusive handbags, chances are no one else you know will have one just like it. You can carry it proudly as a statement of your own unique and personal style.

Among the many features that make these handbags special is the fact that each specially selected outer fabric is hand cut to display it to its best advantage and is paired with a coordinating lining fabric. The plastic base at the bottom of the bag is made exactly to size and has rounded corners so it will never poke through the fabric. Each bag is lightly treated with ScotchGuard® to further extend its life.

In Other Words . . .

The Caprice handbag measures approximately 8 inches high, 9 inches long and 3 inches wide. Unless noted otherwise, these handbags are handmade from 100% cotton outer and lining fabric with a thick polyester fleece interfacing. (Because these handbags are individually hand cut, the appearance of each bag may vary slightly from the photos posted here.) Each Caprice bag has a bead and hoop closure. The bottom of each handbag has six metal feet and is reinforced with a plastic insert.

The outer fabric of each handbag is lightly treated with ScotchGard™ fabric protector. We do recommend that you give your bag a thorough treatment with ScotchGard™ if you will be carrying the handbag frequently. (Be sure to cover the bead closure, the handles and the feet in plastic wrap before applying any kind of fabric protector to your bag.)

Each Caprice handbag is made to order. Please allow seven to ten business days for shipment of your handbag.

As you all know by now, my favorite color is still blue -- although, truth be told, green is starting to give blue a run for its money. Anyway, this is my blue handbag for this year. No really! Would I lie to you? This really is a blue bag -- a deep lapis blue to be exact with bits of deep green on a royal blue and gold background. This handbag has deep royal blue colored 'marble' acrylic handles, gold-toned feet, and a dichroic glass art bead in blues and golds for a fastener.

Ever since I was a little girl, I have been intrigued by kaleidoscopes. There is something about the changing symmetries that just fascinates me. So you know it was love at first sight when I found this fabric. The pattern is primarily olive and khaki greens with fuchsia and magenta accents. The handbag has black 'bamboo' acrylic handles, antique brass toned feet, and a mother-of-pearl bead for a fastener.

And now for my annual bit of trivia ... Did you know that for the Japanese, the tsuru (crane) is a symbol of good fortune and longevity because it is fabled to live for a thousand years? It is also a symbol of fidelity since Japanese cranes are known to mate for life ... Hmm .... I think I like these tsuru. This fabric has gold and white cranes flying over a forest of pale blue, aqua and lavender gingko trees. The handbag has black 'bamboo' acrylic handles, gold- toned feet, and a black onyx bead with a gold accent bead for a fastener.

Now this is a 'yellow brick road' if I ever saw one. This fabric is just metallic gold printed on a black background. I know it doesn't sound like much, but it is really very striking. This handbag has black acrylic handles, gold-toned feet, and a black onyx and a gold 'crinkle' bead for a fastener.
